Artist Statement: I love my backyard. Our house, a one story brick ranch, sits in the midst of a 1960s suburban neighborhood. The yard is tucked behind under a canopy of mature trees and shrubs that afford us much privacy. My studio is in this yard. We have lived here now, in the ordinary place, for 3 years, nothing special - no sweeping views of the marsh, ocean, river or creek, just this small peaceful spot. The afternoon light glowing through the tree canopy is what inspired these images.
